Three days after the birth of Julian Lennon, John finally made it to Sefton Hospital in Liverpool to visit his wife, Cynthia.
John had been on tour and although he called frequently, he only managed to go back to Liverpool on Thursday 11 April 1963
When he saw his son for the first time, he had tears in his eyes, and according to Cynthia he spoke the famous words :"Who's going to be a famous rocker like his dad, then?"
Because John was on the verge of becoming world-famous (and already quite famous in Liverpool) many patients came to look at him during his short visit. He even had to sign some autographs to get out of the hospital.
